This course emphasizes the influential texts of Political Thought such as Plato’s Republic, Aristotle’s Politics, Machiavelli’s Prince, and Hobbes’s Leviathan. Important views of great political thinkers on the development of the state, politics, morality, design of political and social institutions, and political order will be discussed. This course aims to appreciate the pillars and main inclinations of political thought. The ideas of past thinkers in the context of relation with the contemporary vital issues are to be discussed.
